To obtain a resident agent’s license, applicants must claim Ohio as their home state. Applicants must complete required pre-licensing education with an approved provider. Applicants must complete the Uniform Resident Agent Application and complete a criminal background check after successfully passing at least one of the following lines of insurance:
To obtain a resident title agent license, applicants must claim Ohio as their home state, complete the Producer Application for Title License and complete a criminal background check after successfully passing the Ohio Title Insurance examination. To obtain a resident surety bail bond license, applicants
must claim Ohio as their home state. Applicants must complete
surety bail bond pre-licensing education with
an approved provider. Applicants must take and pass an examination to confirm that they have attained at least a minimum level of knowledge regarding the statutes and regulations affecting the insurance profession and the products and services that they will sell to the public. The applicant needs to make sure that the application, pre-license education course, if required, and examination are all for the same lines of authority.
